Bitumen prices up 40% due to war, alternatives can help: Nitin Gadkari
The war in West Asia has led to an increase of 40% in the international prices of bitumen and as India imports 54% of the key road construction input, use of alternates can help, minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said Thursday.

HoABL launches 1% monthly payment plan for Naigaon housing project, backed by Amitabh Bachchan
The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) announced on April 8, 2026, a new payment structure called the Growth Investment Plan (GIP) for its residential project in Naigaon, Western Mumbai. The plan allows homebuyers to pay just 1 per cent of the property value per month during the construction period, replacing the typical upfront requirement of around 45 per cent at an advanced construction stage.
RBI's neutral stance signals balance, realty sector sees long-term positives
Sandeep Chhillar, Founder & Chairman, Landmark Group, says, "The announcement comes at a time when global uncertainty is still quite high. RBI has avoided a premature shift that could have unsettled the broader economy. The neutral stance shows a clear awareness of both inflation risks and uneven global growth trends. For the real estate, this means near-stable home loan rates, giving policymakers space to assess data more carefully."

Bangladesh Railway to import 200 broad-gauge coaches from India
Bangladesh-India relations: The Bangladesh Railway is set to import 200 broad-gauge (BG) coaches from India. Railway Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam told Bangladeh Parliament that the country will receiving coaches, financed by the European Investment Bank from this year, The Daily Star reported.
